Top Three Takeaways from the Gartner Digital Workplace Summit 2025

Here are some of the key insights shaping the future of work and employee experience.
The Gartner Digital Workplace Summit 2025 just wrapped up in Grapevine, Texas, and it was an event to remember! The two-day gathering brought together innovators, IT professionals, and industry leaders to discuss digital employee experience (DEX) and the future of work.
For our HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) team, it was an incredible opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share insights, and showcase how we’re driving digital workplace transformation.
The event had a little something for everyone, from demos and engaging discussions at our booth to a thought-provoking speaking session where HP’s Faisal Masud was joined by KPMG’s Chris Connolly to discuss current and future trends. Here are three of the top takeaways about DEX from the summit:
Takeaway #1 – DEX Will Expand Beyond PCs for Seamless Collaboration Everywhere
A recurring theme at the Gartner Digital Workplace Summit was moving beyond traditional PC-focused DEX solutions. Employees now rely on an ecosystem of devices—and collaboration tools—to work efficiently.
For example, Vyopta offers unified communications (UC) and collaboration analytics to help enterprises optimize collaboration environments, grow usage, and reduce travel and real estate costs. Its technology helps organizations improve collaboration by providing tools to monitor and analyze communication systems like video calls, meetings, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Zoom, Cisco, and Google Workspaces). It gives businesses insights into how well these tools work, identifies issues (like poor call quality), and helps optimize technology performance and workspace usage.
A lot of talk at the Gartner Summit focused on the importance of a holistic DEX approach that delivers consistent and productive experiences across all devices and tools. Guests who visited our booth got to see why WXP is one of the only OEMs that provides a unified platform for managing all enterprise IT assets and ensuring employees can seamlessly work and collaborate—anywhere, anytime.

Takeaway #2 – DEX Drives Higher ROI from IT Assets
CIOs increasingly focus on maximizing return on investment (ROI) and lowering total cost of ownership (TCO) for their technology investments. One of the major themes at the event was how outdated time-based refresh cycles are giving way to data-driven device management, enabling organizations to make smarter decisions about when to repair, replace, or repurpose IT assets.
WXP was showcased as a key example, delivering insights that optimize device usage, extend hardware life, and reduce downtime—all while improving security. These proactive insights can deliver a three-month payback period in some real-world deployments, helping enterprises allocate resources more efficiently.
In the coming years, platforms like WXP will be critical for CIOs aiming to balance cost savings with productivity gains.
Takeaway #3 – End-to-End Workforce Experience Management Will Be Essential for Organizations
Another key takeaway from the Gartner Digital Workplace Summit was the increasing importance of end-to-end workforce experience management. Many software solutions can predict, identify, and fix IT issues, but some organizations may not have the resources or expertise to manage IT device lifecycles on their own. As IT complexity grows and resources shrink, enterprises need robust software, expanded support beyond PCs, and comprehensive managed services to enhance the digital employee experience (DEX).
With managed services, companies can reduce the cost and complexity of managing device fleets by outsourcing procurement, deployment, support, and refresh cycles to a scalable, as-a-service model. They can reduce costs, simplify operations, and ensure employees always have secure and up-to-date technology when they need it. In the near future, virtually any organization can confidently maintain optimal device performance, improve uptime, and keep employees connected and productive across all environments.
